Corner of a Star

Geometrical shapes are the foundation of the universe. They are a Sacred Art of study since their awareness in ancient days of the Sumerians, Egyptians, Greeks, and still are.

It is our elementary learning in universal mathematical education, GLOBALLY.

Of course, ‘opposing’ those hard straight edges of excellent crispness are the ‘organic’ shapes. It’s really hard to define organic shapes in the ‘positive’. What they are NOT is what we understand: they are NOT hard edged shapes.

And as far as educating the young, finding the concrete is much easier to verbalize BUT BUT BUT….the nonverbal experience of the organic is at least 2x as necessary. Proof of that ratio is look around the world and universe.  The natural world has so much less hard shapes than organic.

Nebulae are perfect organic shapes. Huge huge expanses of non-formed gases vs. frozen planetary material. Since planets and sun systems come from nebulae, it’s even mathematically logical to affirm that statement.

Why did a star’s edge fall onto my watercolor landscape?

You and I are still both in wonder about that. If you have answers, please share…..would love to hear from you.
