Purple Vase
Did I take the title from the old Jimmy Hendrix era? It’s been one of those color expressions that live on beyond the originator.
Last year I bought this purple vase for the patio. I could not resist that luscious color. Inside I put my tea candles to light on Friday nights. My patio is screened so wind comes through and wipes out open candelabras. All my patio candle holders are types of hurricane lanterns. The color glows all evening. I do not tea candle during hurricanes. This is for normal Florida winds.
Admittedly, I have not yet satisfied myself with the accuracy of this vase image. Cheatingly, I perked the color contrast and brightness for the web image. Although the original is saturated, it stays pastelly….hazy.
I’ve drawn this many times already and this is my best offering.
