The Wheels on the Bus Go Round

schoolbus-sunfogwebsizeFollowing this school bus in the early morning fog, the sun juiced through the filmy water droplets.

The snapshot reminds me of the Middle East due to the colors of the misty sunrise and the leaning palm trees. Not the Middle East; this is west Boca Raton, Florida. This bus is on the way to the various schools in this area. The chrome yellow bus has always been a favorite of mine. Chrome yellow is also the deep yellow of the sun’s rays towards the bottom of the sun. Everything is warmed by this chrome yellow. Even the cooler shadows in the front complement this yellow. The shadows port a twinge of lavender in its gray.

I carry my new ebay purchase Panasonic Lumix DMC-Z525 with me in the car. The camera is ready almost every morning because Florida sunrises are stunningly beautiful. It’s one of the reasons I wake up earlier for school. This photo was taken while I was driving at 2 mph. The right turn going up one of the largest hills we have in our flat area meets and greets the sun as she rises. Around 6:45 am, this photo was taken on February 27th. Next week with the change in time, it will early May when I see the sun again in this position at this junction.

While we still have grassy areas, we will continue to have ground fog. Concrete doesn’t accept the moisture nor retains it nor discharges it. Grasses in soil do.

The area around this junction is a community golf course. That’s probably why there’s a hill. It’s the most exciting hill in our area because it’s the only hill in our area. The school bus needs to take a wide turn at this corner. That’s another reason why I’m down to 2 mph.

The sleepy shine of the light kept growing larger and yellower as my trip continued. It didn’t leave me until well after I was actively working in school.
